meatballs in williamsburg! (veggie ones too)

The Meatball Shop is opening its doors this week in Williamsburg.  NYMAG Grub Street and TimeOut both have write-ups of the new eatery.  Here’s what TimeOut said:

Meatball maestros Michael Chernow and Daniel Holzman will take their Food & Drink Award–winning fare to Williamsburg next week. You can choose from the same mix-and-match menu of meatballs, sauces and sides as at the Lower East Side Meatball Shop. Everything—including the daily market specials and artisanal ice-cream sandwiches—is made with superlative ingredients, like Seven Stars Farm dairy and Creekstone Farms beef, at both locations. But this new space, decorated with the familiar communal wood tables and white subway tiling, has almost twice as much seating, along with a six-foot-long skylight. Also new to this spot: a full liquor license. Like the bill of fare, the customizable cocktail grid lets drinkers check off a spirit (vodka, gin, tequila, rum, whiskey) and a fresh house-made mixer, such as pink grapefruit juice and muddled cherry, or smoky orange bitters and vermouth. If you’d prefer to skip the decision-making, try the rum “Fool Aid” punch or a Jell-O shot. Check out the full cocktail menu. 170 Bedford Ave between North 7th and 8th Sts, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (718-551-0520)
