tonight: storycorps is coming to brooklyn

StoryCorps is coming to Brooklyn July 25-29 and to ensure all voices are heard, the Brooklyn Public Library is organizing a community meeting tonight from 6:30PM-8:30PM.  Details below:

We are very happy to announce a new partnership with StoryCorps, a national nonprofit oral history organization. During Brooklyn Week, which runs from July 25th to the 29th, we will team up to record the stories and experiences of everyday people who live and work in the borough.

But before we can begin collecting stories, we want the input of individuals and organizations alike to help us better shape this record of Brooklyn life. So please join us at our community meeting on Monday, July 11 to learn more about how you can partner with us for Brooklyn Week. Together we can honor the rich and diverse history of Brooklyn by preserving and sharing stories of its residents.

Date: July 11, 2011

Time: 6:30-8:30pm

Location: Dweck Auditorium at the Central Library.

RSVP: nyc+brooklynweek@storycorps.org
